HALF TICKET
HALF TICKET
I and my wife were travelling to a nearby place with our
daughter in bus. We often travel in this bus with familiar conductor. As we are
amicable to each other, he knows our stop and gives us two full and one half
ticket, one for me and my wife each and one half ticket for my daughter.
But this morning something strange happened when the
conductor asked me about the tickets; I got shocked as he never asked for it
usually.
So I replied two full and one half tickets.
The conductor saw my daughter n said: I think your daughter
is no more a child as she seems to be eight years old.
The world around me swirled and I felt a jerk in my spine to
realize my daughter is no more a child but has matured into lower teenage.
A sense of nostalgia crossed my mind and I thought that
after a certain number of years...she will leave me and there was a gorge in my
heart, complete darkness.
That day one half ticket became a full one.
